- Is there a common thread that is woven through your body of work ?
This three-hour class will explore the use of personal photographs to understand what lies hidden within the self.
A Professional Photographer and Art Therapist will help each class member with various tools to assist in their discovery.
- What story can be told of our images?
- What hidden treasures can we unlock by looking at the patterns that are woven throughout our work? This class will go beyond the functions of the camera and look at how each participant can begin learning new methods of exploring the world around them. The camera is a bridge that provides a way to cross over and explore our imagery up close and personal. Participants will be asked provide their own images, which will be used as a starting point for the class.
Participants will be asked provide their own images, which will be used as a starting point for the class.
We will look at three specific types of images that you have taken. A subject, a passageway (windows, doors, openings) and a landscape. Theses three images will form the cornerstone of our class and be used as tool toward uncovering hidden treasures. Each class member will create an actual map using provided art material and by compositing their images to form a picture.
This map will serve as a symbol and help ignite a personal transformation. Please bring to class examples of these images that you have taken and your camera. The images should be printed at least 8×10 and can be printed with any printer. The images will be cut and glued onto the map
