Don’t miss Jamaican-born, Brooklyn photographer 
Radcliffe “Ruddy” Roye at LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph!
Roye’s documentation of the Hurricane Katrina aftermath, #BlackLivesMatter movement, and chronic homelessness captures misery, but also resilience and compassion. Ruddy Roye has been noted in Aperture Magazine‘s current issue “Vision & Justice” for his street photography’s impact on social justice movements of the 21st century.

Come hear Ruddy Roye’s Artist Talk on Friday, June 17th at 11pm in the Paramount Theater.  Roye’s work will be exhibited at The Bridge PAI from June 13-19.

Held at Deep Rock Farm (30 minutes outside of Charlottesville in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains), LOOKbetween provides a forum for in-depth exploration of photographic practice. Attendees participate in presentations, discussions, collaborative projects, and more.”

Tim Laman‘s Birds of Paradise TREES Talk is the opening event of the 2013 Festival — Wednesday, June 12 at 7:30pm. Single tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children (12 and under).

Carrie Mae Weems takes the stage in conversation with Deborah Willis — Thursday, June 13 at 7pm. Single tickets are available for $35.

There are a very limited number of Festival Passes available, so if you want to enjoy every event, talk, party, and projection during the Festival weekend, don’t delay!


LOOK3’s Porfolio Reviews

LOOK3 is now offering a limited number of portfolio reviews on Thursday, June 13 to Festival passholders!

Take advantage of this opportunity to have your work critiqued and reviewed by editors from National Geographic magazine, The Washington Post, Aperture Magazine, The New Yorker and more!

Portfolio review sessions are $50 per 20-minute session. A limited number of full Education Week packages are still available at $795 for the entire week of courses, reviews, and the Festival.

LOOK3 Education Week scholarships

LOOK3 is providing 12 full scholarships to attend their 2013 Education Week (June 11-15 in Charlottesville, VA).

The scholarship application deadline is in 4 days (April 15), and the recipients will be notified by May 1. The scholarship (valued at $795) doesn’t include travel or accommodations, but it does include a Festival Pass.
