Call for Action

Call for Action

On January 21, 2015, the Fairfax County Park Authority will hold a hearing on the fees that the Authority will charge for park use in 2015. The proposed rule includes a permit requirement and a flat fee of $100 per session for any commercial photography in a county park.

As proposed, the requirement would apply to any photography done for money, including personal portraits, weddings, and stock.

Local photographers have asked that concerned citizens — and especially area photographers — attend the meeting and express opposition to the proposal.

Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 7:00 pm

Herrity Building – Rooms 106/107
12055 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA

More information about the Park Authority’s fees, and the alternatives that citizens have suggested, can be found in Kat Forder’s blog post.
