One of most valuable assets in photography today is your digital files. In modern photography, negatives are replaced with digital files, film canisters are replaced by CF cards and storage is replaced by hard drives. Digital workflow is fast and flexible.
As a result, many photographers also shoot more. The problem is when hard drives die, hours, days, months or years of work can disappear in a flash.

Come and learn how to effectively protect and organize your digital assets in this seminar.

We will be covering the following:
·         Failure rates of hard drives demystified
·         How to anticipate problems in a digital workflow
·         Protected storage strategies
·         Understanding RAID (redundant array of independent disks) storage
·         Leveraging the Operating System such as Apple’s Mac OS X to protect your storage
·         See how a server such as Apple Mac mini or Mac Pro server can fit in your workflow
·         Backup strategies
·         Understanding onsite, near-site, offsite backups archive strategies
·         Understanding how to reduce your active storage while retaining your entire photo library.

Event Details:
·         Presenter: Meza Hsu, Mac Business Solutions’ Systems Engineer
·         Featured Solutions: Apple Mac Pro Server, Mac Mini Server, Mac OSX
·         Who Should Attend: Photographers and Designers

When: Tuesday, April 5th. | 10:00 – 11:30 am
Where: Mac Business Solutions (location)

Medium and Large format solutions for under $10K

Data Storage/Management, Creative/Productive Applications, Monitors, Calibration, Printers, Workflow, Video.  As photographers we all have questions regarding which equipment is best suited for our creative/productive needs.  Many times it’s difficult to wade through marketing hype/sales pitches to get real world answers from knowledgeable professionals with a broad range of experience and understanding of our profession.

With our next APA/DC Brown Bag Meeting we have created a unique opportunity.  Steve Hendrix with Capture Integration has agreed to participate and share his broad scope of knowledge.  As with all APA/DC Brown Bag Meetings this will be an informal discussion where all participate and share their experience.  Steve will be present to offer his unique insight and answer any questions we may have.

Steve has devoted over 10 years to helping photographers get the best results possible through his frank and knowledgeable grasp of the industry and the products that help photographers achieve their goals and objectives. Steve has worked for Sinar, Imacon and Phase One, and spent time at the dealer level selling all of the top products available to photographers. While he specializes in high end digital capture, he also has an advanced background in color management as well as storage and archival workflows.
